O.H.I.P. to delist eye examinations

The Ministry of Health is considering de-listing eye examinations under O.H.I.P.

Most group insurance contracts which contain Vision Care coverage and some contracts that do not provide Vision Care benefits contain wording that eye examinations are covered once per year however, since O.H.I.P. has been providing this service, employees have not been claiming under the benefit programme.

If these services are de-listed by O.H.I.P., the claims under the benefit plan will increase and therefore the cost of the plan will increase. We are not in a position at this time to advise you what the cost increase may be.

We urge you to have your plan amended to remove eye examinations and, when the cost of the coverage can be quantified, you will be in a position to decide whether you wish to have the coverage added.

Please feel free toEmail us or call our office at 1-888 MOSS LTD if you wish to discuss this further.
